Force Leavers

Although Global Marine will allow candidates from a wide range of backgrounds onto the Pilot Technician II Induction course - subject to the candidate meeting the entry requirements laid out (see IMCA Matrix of Minimum Requirements) – a great deal of extra effort has been made to introduce force leavers onto the course.  This is because force leavers, in general, will already have a great deal of relevant and transferable experience in one or more of the following disciplines: hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and electronic*.

*Being a force leaver is not a guarantee of entry onto the course.  Everybody, including force leavers, are subject to the same criteria checks when they apply for entry onto the Pilot Technician II Induction course.

To help force leavers get onto the course Global Marine has teamed up with two initiatives; Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) and the Career Transition Partnership (CTP).  For more details on both Enhanced Learning Credits and Career Transition Partnership, please see the descriptions / links below.

Enhanced Learning Credits - ELC

The MoD's Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC) is an initiative to promote lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. The ELC scheme provides financial support in the form of a single up-front payment. ELC funding is only available for pursuit of higher level learning. Marine Subsea Training is a recognised training provider for forces leavers, so if you haven’t done so already, please have a look at the following website as you may be eligible for a grant from the MoD.

Career Transition Partnership – CTP

The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is the name given to a partnering agreement between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Right Management, who are global career development and outplacement specialists. This simply means the MoD contract the CTP to provide eligible service leavers with career transition services as part of their resettlement process.

The Career Transition Programme provides dedicated one-to-one employment and career consultancy, access to vocational resettlement training with funding support and a job finding service. Global Marine has been approved by the CTP as preferred suppliers.
